Lee County Farm Bureau names service award winner

Leonard Sheaffer of Dixon has been recognized for years of service to the Lee County Farm Bureau.

AMBOY – Leonard Sheaffer of Dixon has been recognized with a distinguished service award by the Lee County Farm Bureau.

Sheaffer serves on the bureau’s board of directors and is a long-time committee member, volunteer, and agriculture advocate.

The award was established to recognize individuals or groups who have shown exemplary leadership and service to the Farm Bureau and the larger agricultural community.

Sheaffer has been a Farm Bureau member for 48 years, having served on the state-level action teams and the healthcare working group. He has been a delegate to the Illinois Farm Bureau annual meeting, participated in the IFB Leaders to Washington program and is a graduate of the IFB agricultural leaders of tomorrow program.
