Area students receive National FFA scholarships

INDIANAPOLIS – The National FFA Foundations recently awarded scholarships to several Sauk Valley club members

Brett Buhrow, Ashton-Franklin Center FFA, and Olivia Charles, West Carroll FFA in Savanna, each were awarded a $1,500 America’s Farmers Grow Ag Leaders Scholarship.

Alyssa Miller, Eastland FFA in Lanark, was awarded a $500 Ruth Straw Family scholarship and the $1,500 Joshua R. Heeren Memorial scholarship.

The selection process considers a student’s FFA involvement, work experience, supervised agricultural experience, community service, leadership skills, academics and financial need.
