The Dixon Police Department has announced its K-9, Vesuc, who went missing early Saturday, Aug. 2, has been found safe.
The K-9 also has been returned to his handler, according to a DPD news release. No other details were provided,
Vesuc, a German Shepherd, had last been seen around 1 a.m. Saturday in the area of West Graham Street in Dixon.
A news release issued late Saturday morning urged anyone who saw the dog to call 911 immediately. The Dixon Police Department had launched a full-scale search.
“K-9 Vesuc is not just a highly trained police service dog, he’s a beloved member of our department and our community,” Dixon Police Chief Ryan Bivins said.
