Dixon Stage Left announces cast for ‘hilarious, heavenly’ musical Nunsense

DIXON — Dixon Stage Left will present “Nunsense” from March 28-30.

With ongoing renovations at its new space, this production will be held off site at James A. Wiltz Auditorium at Dixon High School and will kick off DSL’s capital campaign.

The show revolves around the Little Sisters of Hoboken who are putting together a fundraiser to raise money to bury sisters accidentally poisoned by the convent cook, Sister Julia (Child of God).

As Reverend Mother, seasoned performer Mardi Huffstutler is excited to be returning to Dixon Stage Left, having appeared in “Death by Design” as Victoria van Roth and in “Cinderella” as Stepmother.

Madeline Wold is returning to Dixon Stage Left as Sister Mary Hubert, Mistress of the Novices. She was most recently seen in DSL’s production of “Pride and Prejudice.”

Kierston Freil portrays the streetwise nun, Sister Robert Anne. Friel returns to Dixon Stage Left, where she also was most recently seen in DSL’s production of “Pride and Prejudice.” Cory McGowan is making her Dixon Stage Left debut as the forgetful Sister Mary Amnesia. She most recently appeared as Katherine Plumber in “Newsies” at Centennial Auditorium.

Kate Lusz will be making her Dixon Stage Left debut as the novice, Sister Mary Leo. Her recent credits include Hodel in “Fiddler on the Roof,” Belle in “Beauty and the Beast” and her favorite role, Miss Hannigan in “Annie” with Dixon Young Actors.

“Nunsense” will be directed by Artistic Director Jimmy Ferraro with choreography by Executive Director Scott Fattizzi and Music Director Clea Arbogast.

Ferraro has directed “Nunsense” across the country and is excited to bring these wacky and crazy nuns to Dixon.
