Unique Savanna business to be topic of Feb. 17 program in Fulton

Facemakers, a Savanna, Illinois based company that manufactures costumes and team mascots, will be topic at a Feb. 17 program offered Windmill Volunteer Millers at the Windmill Cultural Center in Fulton.

FULTON – A unique Savanna business will be the topic of a program at 6 p.m. Feb. 17 at the Windmill Cultural Center.

The program, presented by the Windmill Volunteer Millers and open to the public, will feature Nancy Willis. She will tell the story of Facemakers, a Savanna-based company that manufactures costumes.

Willis has worked for Facemakers since 1985, when she was the company president’s personal seamstress. She transitioned to the Facemaker’s building in 1999.

Willis personally has made more than 1,000 costumes.

There is only one person – owner and president Alan St. George – who has been associated with the company longer than Willis.

The free program is partially funded through a grant from the D.S. Flikkema Foundation. Light refreshments will be served after the program.

The Windmill Cultural Center, 111 10th Ave., is accessible.
