The Dixon and Oregon boys bowling teams both wrapped up their best seasons yet at the state meet on Saturday at St. Clair Bowl in Fairview Heights.
The Dukes took seventh with a 12,023 two-day total, led by a seventh-place finish by senior Wyatt Miller (2,659). Miller averaged a 221.6 across 12 games at state, finishing just 118 pins back from individual champion David Lutchka of Carterville.
Harrisburg (13,177) was team champion and Harlem (12,488) was runner-up, followed by Breese Central (12,258).
Oregon (11,414) took 12th in its best finish in program history.
Also scoring for the Dukes were sophomores Daniel Sotelo (2,373) and Aaron Fitzanko (2,323), seniors Cody Geil (2,339) and David Laird (1,960) and junior Sam Gingras (369).
For Oregon, senior Gavvin Surmo (2,513) took 31st to lead the Hawks. Also contributing for Oregon were juniors RJ Keene (2,347), Aiden Currier (1,422) and Caleb Ehrler (320) and seniors Ethan Smice (2,318), Matthew Stahl (1,664), Caleb Brooks (647) and Nolan Page (183).
