Police: 4-year-old girl missing in Rock Island has been found

DIXON – A missing 4-year-girl who was alone inside a car when it was stolen in Rock Island on Thursday morning has been found safe.

Blessing J. Aoci was abducted about 6 a.m. near the intersection of 14th 1/2 Street and 13th Avenue, Rock Island, Rock Island police said.

She was in the booster seat in the back seat of the mother’s car when her mother left the vehicle running and went inside a residence, according to a news release. The vehicle was stolen and recovered a short time later at Ninth Street at 14th Avenue in Rock Island. The child was missing from the vehicle, police said.

An Amber Alert was issued by the Illinois State Police.
