Police release name of Rock Falls man killed in Lee County hit-and-run

WALTON – Lee County sheriff’s deputies are looking for the driver who struck and killed a 40-year-old Rock Falls pedestrian about 9:30 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Sterling and Walton roads in Walton.

Patrick James Yocum was found in the middle of the roadway by a passerby and was pronounced dead at KSB Hospital in Dixon, Sheriff Clay Whelan said Tuesday. An autopsy is scheduled Wednesday.

The vehicle involved is believed to be a 2014 to 2018 Jeep Cherokee with extensive damage to the front end grill, hood and windshield, Whelan said.
