Dixon police release name of man found dead this week in Rock River

DIXON – Police on Wednesday released the name of the Dixon man found dead Tuesday in the Rock River near the Peoria Avenue bridge.

An autopsy will be done Friday on Raymond Reidl, 68, Deputy Chief Matt Richards said.

The Police received a call about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday reporting a body just downstream from the bridge, on the south side of the river. Reidl was removed from the water shortly before 4 p.m.

The Illinois State Police Crime Scene unit is assisting in the investigation, as is procedure.
