GALVA — Riders from Leaf River, Shannon and Fulton were part of the Black Hawk College western-style equestrian team that won a regional championship in the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association Feb. 26-27.
It was the team’s 18th consecutive regional title and qualified for the semifinals, which BHC will host March 18-20. This will be the third time BHC has served as a semifinal host.
Lauryn Kuehl of Fulton and Anna Wilhelm of Shannon are part of the semifinal team. Kuehl will compete in Level 1 horsemanship and Wilhelm in open horsemanship.
Black Hawk College also had 13 individuals who were individual regional qualifiers.
Taylor Yordy of Leaf River was a regional qualifier in Level 1 horsemanship.
Wilhelm of Shannon was a regional qualifier in reining and open horsemanship. She took second in open horsemanship and qualified as an individual for the semifinals.
