Eleven jurors have so far been selected to hear the case against Duane Meyer, 43, who is accused of killing his ex-wife and setting fire to her Byron home on Oct. 19, 2016, with their 3-year-old son inside. A third jury pool is being summoned for selection Monday.
After three days of jury selection, a total of eight jurors have so far been seated to decide the fate of a Stillman Valley man charged with killing his ex-wife in 2016 and setting her home on fire. Their 3-year-old son, who was inside the home, also died.

Zachary J. Popp, 31, entered the not guilty plea and demanded a jury trial after waiving his right to a preliminary hearing on Wednesday, Dec. 31.

Camren Hastings is charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm, a Class 1 felony, and aggravated use of a firearm as a person under the age of 21, a Class 4 felony.
Joshua S. McQuality, 28, was arrested Dec. 15 following a search at his residence by the Ogle County Special Operations Unit and sheriff’s office.
Brett A. Barnes, 42, entered not guilty pleas on five counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, one count of attempted aggravated criminal sexual abuse and grooming.
