A Monroe Center man was sentenced to prison Friday after pleading guilty to identity theft and aggravated fleeing.

Ceczar Spann, 31, of Rochelle, was found guilty of two counts of domestic battery for striking a member of his household during a Sept. 12, 2025, incident.

A judge denied release on Wednesday to a DeKalb father and registered sex offender who's charged with first-degree murder in his 5-month-old son’s death, a day after the baby was hospitalized suffering significant facial injuries while in the man’s care, authorities said.
