At its monthly meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025, the Hillcrest Village Board of Trustees discussed enforcement of its ordinances and policing in the village.

The Brass Family Farm in Stillman Valley raises and sells grass-fed beef on its pasture, and will share the benefits of it during its annual Pasture Walk on Oct. 18 at the farm.

The Mt. Morris American Legion Post 143 made a donation to “All Hands On Deck,” an outreach project of the Evangelical Free Church of Mt. Morris (EFCMM).  

The Ogle County Sheriff’s Office recently announced it has been awarded a federal fiscal 2026 Sustained Traffic Enforcement Program grant.

Lydia Anderson was recently named the September 2025 Student of the Month at Polo Community High School. She received a scholarship from the Polo Schools Foundation for her efforts. She is the daughter of Nate and Amy Anderson.

The campaign is based on the globally recognized Know Your Lemons initiative, which uses 12 lemons to illustrate different signs and symptoms of breast cancer in an attempt to remove fear and stigma and overcome literacy and age barriers.
