Six times, Genoa-Kingston tied Rochelle in the second and deciding set of the contest, only to relinquish the lead. Finally, after pulling even for the seventh time, G-K rallied for a 6-1 run to win the set 25-20 and clinch the match.

The Rochelle High School volleyball team traveled to Genoa Monday night to take on the Genoa-Kingston Cogs.

After falling behind early in the opening set, Newman roared back to win and then carried that momentum to a big lead in the second set in a 25-23, 25-13 win over Oregon on Thursday.

Dixon has emphasized playing as one team this season. The experienced Duchesses improved to 2-0 after sweeping Rochelle in Thursday's home opener.

In a nonconference match between two teams working several new faces into the lineup and trying to find their footing early in the season, Oregon came up with the surges when it needed to in a 25-11, 25-16 win over Newman on Thursday night at the Blackhawk Center.
