One of McHenry's signature events, Fiesta Days, culminated Sunday with the annual festival parade. Fiesta Days takes place over two weekends in July.




Preserved Peculiarities, which moved from McHenry's Riverwalk Shoppes incubator to a more permanent location downtown, sells things like bugs mounted under glass, dioramas of dried flowers and butterflies, animal skulls, rabbits feet, tattooed pigs ears, exotic animal mounts and materials for Wiccan and Pagan followers.



Crystal Lake was one of several communities across northern Illinois that hosted a “Good Trouble Lives On” rally as part of what was described as a national day of peaceful protest marking the fifth anniversary of civil‑rights icon and U.S. Rep. John Lewis’ death. Hundreds turned out in McHenry County.
