A chance to renew a driver’s license and other DMV tasks is coming to Lake in the Hills as part of a Mobile Driver Service Unit.
The event – a partnership by state Rep. Suzanne Ness, D-Crystal Lake, the village of Lake in the Hills and the Secretary of State’s Office – will take place 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 28 at at Lake in the Hills Village Hall, 600 Harvest Gate, according to a news release.
“Many Secretary of State facilities had to close or run at limited capacity this past year due to the pandemic, leaving many individuals needing to make renewals at the DMV,” Ness said in a statement, adding that the event is a way for residents to avoid “waiting in long lines” at Secretary of State’s Office locations.
The event will offer many of the services offered at a regular driver service facility, including renewal or correction of a driver’s license, state ID cards, license plate stickers, motor voter registration and organ donor registration, according to the release.
Not offered are Real ID compliant driver’s licenses and ID cards. Seniors age 75 and older also also need to go to a regular driver service facility to renew a driver’s license
