Cary-Grove's Logan Abrams was a double-winner in the shot put and discus at the Class 3A Antioch Sectional, while teammate Jameson Tenopir captured a title in the 1,600. C-G, McHenry, Crystal Lake Central and Huntley will all send individuals to state next weekend.

Prairie Ridge held off a late Woodstock surge to clinch its third straight IHSA sectional boys track and field championship Wednesday. Woodstock, Johnsburg, Woodstock North, Crystal Lake South, Harvard, Richmond-Burton, Marian Central and Marengo all qualified events for state.

St. Charles North, despite only having two wins, had seven double-scoring efforts to defend its team title in the 107th annual Kane County Meet. Bennett Konkey, who broke two meet records, led Geneva to second, while Kaneland took third.

Here are the IHSA sectional assignments for McHenry County-area boys track and field teams.

Oswego East won its third consecutive boys title at the Palatine Relays while Hersey fended off York to win the girls crown in a tightly contested battle.

McHenry's boys track and field team captured the McHenry County meet on its home track, while Huntley won the girls championship. Marengo's Jackson Heimsoth and Johnsburg's Hope Klosowicz were named athletes of the meet.

Naperville North flexed its muscle Friday night by winning its own Gus Scott Invitational. Cary-Grove was second, while Wheaton Warrenville South took third and Jacobs was fourth.
