Sean Roth scored a team-high 17 points, and Hampshire's improved boys basketball team beat visiting Marian Central 61-46 in a nonconference game Wednesday night.

Trey Toussaint scored a career-high 27 points, and Johnsburg hit 15 3-pointers in beating host Richmond-Burton 78-50 on Tuesday night to take over sole possession of first place in the Kishwaukee River Conference.

The night didn’t start too well for Burlington Central, turning the ball over on its first three possessions against McHenry. Pretty much everything went the Rockets’ way after that, though. Central caught up and steadily pulled away for a 59-42 Fox Valley Conference win.

Brothers Elijah and Malachi Bell combined for 36 points and delivered key shots down the stretch as Jacobs knocked off Cary-Grove 50-46 and handed the Trojans their first Fox Valley Conference loss Tuesday.
