Tuesday marked the first day of filing for most races that will appear on the April ballot, including city councils and village boards, as well as school, park, fire protection district and township boards.

It’s just been a week since that other election, but for many McHenry County communities, filing begins Tuesday for the next one – the local election, which takes place April 1.
