A 2003 Toyota Echo that was parked, unoccupied, in a lot on Richmond Road was also hit.
Land was the sole occupant of the Audi and was taken to Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital, police said. The two killed in the crash were both pronounced dead at the scene by the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.
According to a news release from the McHenry Township Fire Protection District, two victims were on the ground when firefighters arrived, and a third person was trapped in a vehicle and had to be removed.
