Richmond-Burton captures own tournament title: At Richmond, R-B (21-1) suffered its first loss of the season to Burlington Central in pool play, but bounced back to defeat Central in the championship match and win its own tournament. R-B also had wins over Zion-Benton, Boylan and IC Catholic.
Richmond-Burton setter Alex Hopp surpassed 2,000 career assists and coach Mike Kamholz earned his 100th career victory.

Burlington Central (16-5) finished 4-1, also beating Boylan, Zion-Benton and Guilford.
Brianna Gritzman had 32 digs for Central after surpassing 1,000 career digs earlier in the week. Tiernan Naus recorded 16 aces and 53 assists in the tournament.
Marengo takes first at Yorkville Christian Tournament: At Yorkville, the Indians (12-13) finished 4-0 to win the tournament championship, beating Aurora Central Catholic in the final.
For the tournament, Emma Castro had 47 assists, Ava Frederick and Abigail Paiz had 18 digs apiece, and Addison Sanchez added 11 aces, 16 kills and seven blocks. Dayna Carr had 16 kills and Macy Noe chipped in seven blocks.

Lakes Invite: At Lake Villa, Gia Patel (No. 2 singles), Kate Burkey and Carlie Weishaar (No. 1 doubles) and Ari Patel and Julie Klockner (No. 2 doubles) all placed first as the Red Raiders captured the 14-team tournament title. Ella Doughty was third at No. 1 singles.
Boys soccer
Richmond-Burton 3, Genoa-Kingston 0: Joe Kyes scored two goals for the Rockets in a nonconference win over the Cogs.
Nick Kyes added a goal and an assist. Will Gardner and Jack Meyer each had assists.
Crystal Lake Central 1, Huntley 0: Gideon Burleson scored the lone goal of the game for the Tigers to secure a Fox Valley Conference victory.
Jeremiah Reynolds made four saves for Huntley.
Lake Zurich 3, Cary-Grove 0: At Cary, the Trojans were shut out in nonconference action.
Bartlett 5, Burlington Central 1: The Rockets couldn’t come back in nonconference play.

Dundee-Crown 20, Larkin 0: At Elgin, The Chargers battled to a win against Larkin.
Hampshire 18, Elgin 6: At Elgin, the Whip-Purs earned a win against the Maroons.

Crystal Lake Central Invite: At Crystal Lake, Crystal Lake Central took fifth and Prairie Ridge was sixth in the eight-team meet.
Boys cross country
Bartlett Invite: Jacobs took seventh with 225 points and Burlington Central took eighth with 280 points in a 22-team meet.
For the Golden Eagles, Max Sudrzynski was third in 15:08.20 and Isaac Pepin was 19th in 16:02.80.
For the Rockets, Jayden Beecroft was 26th (16:17.10)
Palatine Invite: At Deer Grove East Forest Preserve, Crystal Lake Central took 20th with 581 points, Prairie Ridge took 23rd with 655 points, Hampshire took 26th with 686 points and Cary-Grove took 29th with 762 points in the 31-team meet.
Minooka Invite: At Minooka, Huntley took sixth with 172 points in a 10-team meet.
Mark Omoniyi was the top performer for the Red Raiders and took 28th (17:15.69).
Girls cross country
Bartlett Invite: At Bartlett, Crystal Lake South took second place with 86 points, Jacobs was sixth with 156 points and and Burlington Central was seventh with 195 points in the 19-team meet.
For the Gators, Olivia Pinta was ninth (18:25), Caroline Lucas was 12th (18:39.7) and Victoria Pinta was 14th (18:48.2).
For the Golden Eagles, Hudson Szymonik was 16th (18:51.2).
For the Rockets, Abigail Burke was 10th (18:28).
Minooka Invite: At Minooka, Huntley finished second in a nine-team meet with 47 points.
Cori Kilvinger was third (18:46.79) and Morgan Sauber was seventh (19:08.87).
Palatine Invite: At Deer Grove East Forest Preserve, Hampshire took 18th with 478 points, Crystal Lake Centralas was 23rd with 582 points, Cary-Grove was 26th with 712 points and Prairie Ridge was 29th with 824 points in the 32-team meet.
Winnebago Invite: At Winnebago, Harvard finished eighth with 199 points in the nine-team meet.
Hannah Jimenez placed 40th (15:53.75) for the Hornets.
