Some buses will run late at Peru Elementary

Superintendent asking parents to arrange transportation for their child, if possible

Peru Elementary’s new bus company will be short drivers Monday, Aug. 23, and cannot cover all of its morning routes, said Superintendent Jamie Craven in a letter to parents.

Routes 5 and 6 will run at normal time, but should expect 5 to 10 minute delays. Routes 1, 2, 3 and 4 will run about one hour late. All afternoon routes will be covered but may have delays, Craven said.

“If it is possible to arrange transportation for your children (Monday) we encourage you to do so,” Craven said. “I apologize for this inconvenience. Peru Elementary and other member districts are working with Johannes Bus Company Inc. to try and rectify these issues. They are experiencing a shortage of bus drivers and unfortunately this may not be resolved in the upcoming week.”

The school year begins Monday for Peru Elementary.

“The safety of your children is our number one priority and we are working to get this situation resolved as quickly as possible,” Craven said. “hen I have more information to share, I will update our community.”
