A Chicago man was charged with aggravated domestic battery after a Tuesday morning incident in Mendota that led to a three-hour standoff with police. There were no injuries.

Agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement were in La Salle on Thursday, police confirmed, but agents were investigating a sexual assault – not conducting an immigration enforcement roundup.

Buffington said it took about 35 minutes to extinguish the fire. There were no injuries.

No injuries were reported in a short-lived residential fire Tuesday afternoon in rural Utica. The fire is considered accidental.

One person was killed and three others were injured Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle head-on crash on Route 18 in Putnam County, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said in a Tuesday news release.
