Rivalry games are never easy for teams. Throw in eight missing La Salle-Peru players and a talented Ottawa team made quick work of its Interstate 8 rival in a 7-0 victory over the Cavaliers Monday.

Sycamore relentlessly attacked the La Salle-Peru net, but the shots that weren’t off the mark were being turned away by goalie Lily Higgins. But the Spartans put up three goals in the final eight minutes of the first half on the way to a 9-0 win.

Princeton jumped on visiting IVC for an 8-0 halftime lead and tacked on an early second half goal to end the game by the nine-goal mercy rule in nonconference play at Bryant Field Tuesday afternoon.

After students expressed interest, St. Bede added soccer this fall. The Bruins are playing as a co-ed team at the JV level this season.
