The Sycamore girls track and field team won the final three events at Friday's Interstate 8 Conference meet to claim the title over runner-up Morris and third-place Kaneland at Morris High School.

The Mendota and St. Bede baseball teams won in their last at-bat and more baseball, softball and track and field results in Friday's NewsTribune roundup.

Jim Nugent has coached in many roles since arriving at Bureau Valley, including varsity girls basketball, sophomore boys basketball and junior high boys and girls basketball. He has picked up a new title as the women’s basketball coach at Sauk Valley Community College.

Bureau Valley High School will host a Fellowship of Christian Athletes Basketball Camp on July 7-9 from 9 a.m. to noon for boys and girls entering grades 3-8.
