The La Salle County Sheriff’s Office has a new chief deputy and undersheriff.

The victim in Saturday’s hit-and-run has not been identified but the injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. The search continues for the sport-utility vehicle that fled the scene.

A motorist who died in a Saturday police pursuit near Sheridan died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the La Salle County Coroner’s Office disclosed in a Tuesday news release.
