COVID-19 case rates, new hospital admissions of confirmed COVID-19 and percentage of staffed inpatient beds in use by patients with confirmed COVID-19 all decreased in the past seven days, as La Salle County’s community level of COVID-19 risk remains low, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
La Salle County’s case rate/total cases in the past seven days is 32.21 residents per 100,000; the county has had two new hospital admissions of confirmed COVID-19 in the past seven days; and the county has 0.8% of staffed inpatient beds in use by patients with confirmed COVID-19. In the previous week, there were four county residents hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 and 1% of inpatient beds in use by patients with confirmed COVID-19.
Additionally, confirmed COVID-19 cases continued to decrease. There were 39 new cases since March 27, compared to 50 the previous week. Making up the new cases are three boys younger than 13, three girls younger than 13, two teenage boys, three teenage girls, a man in his 20s, three women in their 20s, three men in their 30s, six women in their 30s, three men in their 40s, two women in their 40s, a man in his 50s, a woman in her 50s, three men in their 60s and five women in their 60s.
Since March 27, 126 residents previously confirmed with COVID-19 have been removed from isolation.

The health department urges everyone 5 years and older to get vaccinated and all eligible individuals to get a booster. Individuals who need to start the COVID-19 vaccination series or a booster, call the La Salle County Health Department at 815-433-3366 to schedule an appointment. The health department has Johnson and Johnson, Moderna and Pfizer available.

In La Salle County, 57.82% of the county’s population is fully vaccinated for COVID-19; 61.81% of the county’s population has had at least one dose of vaccine and 33,890 booster shots have been administered, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.
