La Salle County’s Community Level of COVID-19 is low based on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s new guidelines.
In the past seven days, the county’s case rate is 77.30 per 100,000, the county has had 10 new hospital admissions of confirmed COVID-19 and 1.5% of staffed inpatient beds are in use by patients confirmed with COVID-19.
With that said, there were two COVID-related deaths since March 4. Two men in their 90s died from complications related to the virus.
There have been four COVID-related deaths this month, and nine in all of March of last year, according to the La Salle County Health Department. There have been 455 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.
The health department confirmed 85 new COVID-19 cases. Making up those cases are seven boys younger than 13, eight girls younger than 13, eight teenage boys, five teenage girls, eight men in their 20s, four women in their 20s, two men in their 30s, five women in their 30s, four men in their 40s, 11 women in their 40s, five men in their 50s, three women in their 50s, five men in their 60s, five women in their 60s, two men in their 70s and three women in their 70s.
There were 347 residents removed from isolation since March 4.

La Salle County Health Department urges everyone 5 years and older to get vaccinated and all eligible individuals to get a booster. Individuals who need to start the COVID-19 vaccination series or a booster, call the La Salle County Health Department at 815-433-3366 to schedule an appointment. The health department has Johnson and Johnson, Moderna and Pfizer available.

There were 63,055 La Salle County residents fully vaccinated of COVID-19, which is 57.62% of the county’s population; there were 67,570 residents with at least one dose of the vaccine, which is 61.75% of the county’s population; and 33,358 booster shots have been administered, as of Friday, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.
