League of Women Voters of La Grange to present pharmacist’s talk on rising prescription drug prices

Union County Board of Supervisors agreed to pursue some of the opioid settlement funds that have been acquired from litigation between the federal government and manufacturers of the pain killer prescription drug.

LA GRANGE – The League of Women Voters of the La Grange Area will sponsor a program about the rising prices of prescription drugs. It will be offered via Zoom from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 8.

The discussion will be led by Thomas Gochenour, a staff pharmacist and compounder at Rush University Medical Center, a news release stated. He also has served as an adjunct professor at the Chicago College of Pharmacy and has been a Board Certified Pharmacotherapist since 2002.

He will discuss the evolution of the prescription marketplace since 1972 and will reference events and legislation that have led to the list prices of some medications skyrocketing.
