High school sports roundup for Monday, March 8: Hannah Schuringa double-double paces Timothy Christian past IC Catholic

Timothy Christian 53, IC Catholic Prep 42

Hannah Schuringa had 20 points and 10 rebounds to power the Trojans, who scored 24 points in the third quarter to pull away from the Knights. Grace Roland added 10 points and 10 rebounds, Sureya Alex scored 12 points and Maddie Drye had nine.

St. Francis 50, Riverside-Brookfield 43

Maggie Culver led four Spartans in double figures with 14 points. Katie Anne De Craene added 12, Kate Chaparro and 10 and Dolly Smith 10 for St. Francis (9-5, 9-4) Metro Suburban). Brenna Loftus scored 22 points for Riverside-Brookfield.

York 44, Downers Grove North 24

Mariann Blass scored 14 of her 17 points in the first quarter, and hit five 3-pointers for the Dukes. Amaya Rufus added six points. Ryann Wendt led the Trojans with eight points.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Lemont 69, Bremen 50

Kyle Kostes poured in 30 points to pace the Indians (10-1).
