Joseph Michelini secured his third state trip in the shot put, leading Lake Park's boys track team to Friday's sectional title, while star hurdler Benjamin Schoettle led Glenbard West to second, Geneva's Bennett Konkey swept the 100 and 200 and Batavia's Darin Ashiru the jumps.

Oswego junior Jezhian Sprinkle overcame hitting a hurdle on his first race to sweep both hurdles races, among the many individual highlights along with Lemont's Nathan Murray running the state's second-best 400 while Hinsdale Central took the team title at Downers Grove North.
