The Grundy Area Vocational Center announced during its awards ceremony in Coal City on Wednesday that nine students will be graduating from high school directly into their new careers.

In the hopes of staying current with the evolving technology, Minooka Community Consolidated School District 201 officials have outlined plans for a so-called artificial intelligence “playbook” that will be available to teachers in the upcoming school year.

The Grundy Area Vocational Center and Morris Fire Protection District are teaming up to create a pathway for new firefighters directly from high school.

Grundy Area Vocational Center students and their families packed into the Coal City High School auditorium Wednesday for the announcement of the award winners for the 2025-26 school year.

The Grundy Area Vocational Center honored the students who received monthly awards throughout the 2025-26 school year.

These Grundy Area Vocational Center students went the entire school year without missing a class.

The Morris Community High School Theatre program, along with many younger students, will begin performing “The Little Mermaid” at 7 p.m. Friday, April 24, with performances through the weekend.

Morris Community High School will break ground on its new addition at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 6.

Minooka Community Consolidated School District 201 officials are in the process of embarking on a once-in-a-decade review of capital improvement projects at each of the seven buildings.
