Ridge Road in Minooka reopened after Friday afternoon accident

Emergency light

The Minooka Police Department announced Friday afternoon that Ridge Road is reopened after it was closed due to a traffic accident.

The accident occurred earlier in the day at the corner of Ridge and Wildy roads on the far north side of the village, and according to the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office, it was a two-vehicle crash involving a Minooka ambulance.

The Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post that because the ambulance is a municipal vehicle, it will be handling the investigation. The ambulance was transporting a patient at the time it crashed.

Police said five people were transported from the scene, four from the ambulance and one from the other vehicle. The injuries are not thought to be life-threatening at this time.

This story will be updated once more is known about the accident.
