The DeKalb farmers market opened for its 30th season with a special grand ribbon cutting Thursday in Frank Van Buer Plaza in downtown DeKalb. The market runs on Thursdays through September, and offers an array of food, handmade crafts and goods, produce and other items from dozens of local vendors.
Marshall Morong, a first grader at Hinckley-Big Rock Elementary School, arrived in style Monday morning riding in a Tesla Cybertruck donated for use by Tesla of Naperville, escorted by Hinckley and Big Rock first responders. Morong has missed much of the school year while in the hospital waiting for, and eventually receiving, a heart transplant.
