The Yorkville Police Department responded to an attempted burglary incident in the 1900 block of South Bridge Street.

The department conducted the campaign from March 13-23. The Oswego Police Department joined forces with state and local law enforcement and highway safety partners.

Jesus Almaraz-Rodriguez, 49, was taken into custody by the Kendall County Cooperative Police Assistance Team.

The driver was allegedly using a cell phone at the time of the crash and a toxicology report also indicated the presence of alcohol in her system, according to Yorkville police.

To remind motorists of the dangers of impaired driving and to help keep the streets safe, area police departments are teaming up with the Illinois State Police and Illinois Department of Transportation for a traffic safety campaign running March 13 through March 23.

A Romeoville man who crashed into two Oswego police cars early Monday while officers were conducting a traffic stop has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

A Naperville man was charged with two felonies after Yorkville police recovered a loaded handgun and cocaine from his vehicle early Sunday morning.

The Kendall County Coroner’s Office has identified the man as Luis Manuel Chauran Escobar, a 22-year-old from Valencia, Venezuela.

The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office believes the shooting occurred between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Sunday following a party at the house Saturday night.
