Deputies responded to the scene shortly after 11:30 p.m. following reports of an armed robbery at Lovers Playground in Oswego Township, according to a news release from the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office.

“The safety of our students and school staff is our highest priority,” Montgomery Police chief Phil Smith said in the release. “We commend the school staff and administrators for their immediate response and cooperation.”

The Oswego Police Department joined forces with the Illinois State Police, local law enforcement and highway safety partners for this enforcement effort.
