Coal City punched its ticket to the dual team state finals for the fourth year in a row with Thursday's 56-14 win over Yorkville Christian in the IHSA Class 1A Coal City Dual Team Sectional.

Joliet Catholic picked up a 63-5 win over Yorkville in the Class 3A Marmion Dual Team Sectional to advance to the state finals for the fifth straight season

Sandwich placed second, Marquette took third and host Princeton had four individual champions in the Class 1A Princeton Regional, while St. Bede, Mendota and Putnam County-Hall also sent wrestlers on to sectional.

Individuals from Amboy, Dixon, Hall-Putnam County, Mendota, Marquette, St. Bede Princeton, and Sandwich all competed during the Class 1A Regional meet on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026 at Princeton High School.
Yorkville, coming off its fifth consecutive conference championship, is set to start the wrestling postseason this weekend along with Oswego and Oswego East with a Class 3A regional at Moline, while Sandwich and Yorkville Christian have high hopes at Class 1A regionals.
Yorkville won the Southwest Prairie Conference boys wrestling championship for the fifth consecutive year on Saturday.

Jack Forth was among the seniors Sandwich celebrated during its final dual meet of the season, a 55-19 Senior Night victory over Plano.
