State Sen. Dan McConchie is among the Illinois legislators encouraging residents to express their appreciation for law enforcement during National Police Appreciation Week via an “Appreciation for your Dedication” card drive, according to a news release.
National Police Appreciation Week is May 9 through 15. Through the card drive, residents can create and submit cards, including handwritten notes, encouraging and uplifting stories and drawings that thank law enforcement for the work they do to keep communities safe.
“National Police Week is a great time to show our support and encouragement to our law enforcement professionals,” McConchie, R-Hawthorn Woods, said in a news release. “I hope my constituents join me in sending a heart-felt thank you to those who serve and protect our communities with honor.”
Participants must mail or drop off their creations by Thursday to McConchie’s district office in Lake Zurich, 325 N. Rand Road, Suite B, Lake Zurich, IL 60047.
McConchie and his staff personally will deliver the cards to police officers throughout the 26th Senate District, which McConchie represents, on the final days of National Police Appreciation Week.
The 26th Senate District includes parts or all of Crystal Lake, Algonquin, Cary, Fox River Grove, Island Lake, Lake Zurich, Hawthorn Woods, Libertyville, Kildeer, Long Grove, Barrington Hills and South Barrington.
