The Geneva City Council Monday approved an expansion of its "Destination Geneva" grant program Monday night, where local nonprofits can apply for grants from $2,500 up to $10,000 for events that bring people for overnight stays in the city.

Raising concerns of being silenced and a lack of transparency, 2 Batavia School District 101 board members abruptly resigned. They argued district leaders have been unresponsive to parent and student concerns and have stifled their own attempts at facilitating meaningful change.

St. Charles police look to keep social worker program going strong; 588 residents served over 1 year
Last year, 588 residents received social services from the St. Charles Police Department’s social worker – and the department wants to continue a partnership that made it possible.

While federal funding has run dry for the study to remove the downtown dam in St. Charles, the city is considering a resolution to clarify its position of keeping the waterway impoundment. The resolution is being discussed during a May 18 city meeting.

The city of St. Charles is currently staring down a water deficiency of 500,000 gallons per day. This is despite a recent well project being completed and another one approaching its finish in 2027. The search is already beginning for a new drinking water well.

Pulte Homes has proposed a 93 single-family home and 12 townhome units subdivision plan in St. Charles at the former-industrial site of Applied Composites. The developers are asking for $3M in financial incentives and are refusing to build any affordable housing units on-site.
