After seeing three runs cross the plate in their first four batters of the game, Wheaton Warrenville South pitcher Reece Franks could have been justified if he was a bit shaken. Instead, he quickly locked in providing a foundation for a 12-5 win over St. Charles East.

Wayne DeMaar, a former athletic director at St. Charles East and baseball coach for both St. Charles high schools is remembered for being "One of the finest men." DeMaar passed away March 27 at the age of 82.
