emergency lights

Four people were taken to the hospital – including one with injuries described as life-threatening – following a crash that shut down a stretch of Randall Road in Batavia Wednesday.

Police said a Tesla carrying two women was heading south on Route 31 at about 4:20 p.m. when it collided with a Dodge pickup while the Tesla was attempting to turn left onto McKee Street.

The women in the Tesla were taken to an area hospital, one with life-threatening injuries, police said.

The male driver of the truck was also transported to a hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening, as was an occupant of a third vehicle, a Nissan SUV, that was also involved in the crash, according to authorities.

Randall Road between Mill and Wilson streets was shut down to investigate what authorities called a “significant crash.”

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact Batavia Police at 630-454-2500.
