La Salle cut the ceremonial ribbon on a new outdoor fitness court Wednesday at Rotary Park in La Salle. This Fitness Court was developed by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois, City of La Salle and National Fitness Campaign to expand free access to workouts and create equitable access to exercise for communities around the state.

Crews took down playground equipment Wednesday at 28th Street Park in Peru and are adding lighting to Sunset Park. 28th Street Park is getting a new playground in October.

Crews are in the beginning stages Wednesday of painting the Utica water tower on top of Clarks Hill. Crews will be doing repairs to the interior and exterior of the tower before painting. When finished, the tower will have a new logo on it.
