Mendota Police Department and Illinois State Police ticketed seven Wednesday for allegedly selling alcoholic beverages to underage customers.

The suspect in a pair of fatal shootings in Sheridan has a new lawyer and won a concession Friday from his judge: Ronald Martin can wear street clothes, rather than jail stripes, at future court dates.

An inmate at La Salle County Jail died Monday after hanging himself, La Salle County authorities said in a Thursday press release.

Logan Petre will have to wait another month to find out whether he goes free for killing his father in self-defense or whether he’s going to prison for a long time.
