The Storm opened the Bureau Valley Thanksgiving girls basketball tournament with a 60-27 win over Rock Falls Tuesday at the Storm Cellar.

Emily Wright had 16 points for the Storm and Libby Endress added 12.

In the opener, Riverdale beat Erie-Prophetstown 43-37.

The tournament resumes Wednesday with Bureau Valley playing E-P at 7 p.m. following Riverdale vs. Rock Falls.

Limestone 54, St. Bede 35: Lili McClain was the leading scorer for the Bruins with 11 points in tournament play at Pontiac.

The Bruins return to action at 7 p.m. Thursday vs. the tournament hosts.
