The city of Ottawa announced that trick-or-treat hours for Halloween will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31.

The city discussed adjusting trick-or-treating hours due to Daylight Saving Time, but the traditional hours were selected to prevent participants from being caught off guard. Families are encouraged to use glow sticks, flashlights or bright accessories to stay visible after dark.
