Retired K-9 officer Helo was laid to rest last week. Central K-9 Search and Rescue, for which Helo had served nine years, confirmed his passing Jan. 23.
“K-9 Helo served with Central K-9 Search and Rescue from 2014 to 2023,” the agency said in a statement issued Monday. “He helped bring closure to many families, including a family located in Ladd. Helo was known for his accurate sense of smell.
“Helo and his handler, Olivia Jesse, were a dynamic duo who loved to serve our community. We’re grateful to Helo for his dedication and years of service to our team and to the community.”
