Jackson Alcorn accounted for four total touchdowns, including two scoring strikes to L.J. Kerr, and Burlington Central scored on its first four possessions and went on to a 42-14 win over Grant in a Class 6A first-round game for the program's first playoff win in 18 years.



After the offense failed to score on its first possession, Logan Young led the Mustangs to six straight touchdown drives to lead Mundelein to a 42-27 victory over Grant to open the season.
