Strohacker: Still time to make summer memories

August already? How can that be? Is it just me or did this summer seem to go faster than others in the past? Maybe it’s because we were all so excited to get back to our summer traditions and spend time with family and friends. Or maybe you were finally able to do some traveling and take a vacation.

Somehow, August has snuck up on us and soon fall will be here. But don’t hang up your flip flops yet, there is still plenty of time and opportunities to make great memories in DeKalb County this summer.

DeKalb County is home to many unique festivals and celebrations that draw crowds from across Illinois and neighboring states, and August is packed with them. In fact, there are far too many to list them all so I’ll just highlight a few of the big ones. For a full list of countywide events, visit https://dekalbcountycvb.com/dccvb-events/.

Please be sure to check event websites for any last-minute changes or regulations due to COVID-19.
