The Interstate 8 released its all-conference teams on Thursday for six spring sports.

After deciding to decommit from NIU for football and pursue options in track, Sycamore senior Aidan Wyzard dominated the Interstate 8 boys track meet, kicking off a postseason that ended with an individual state championship, four medals and a team title for the Spartans.

About 100 people packed into Sycamore High School’s gymnasium Wednesday night to celebrate a historic moment: a state title for the boys track and field team. “These kids worked their tails off,” district athletic director Chauncey Carrick said.

Sycamore High School filled Wednesday night with Spartan fans, families and athletes to celebrate a historic win: The first state championship title in program history for the Class 2A boys track and field team.

Aidan Wyzard and Dylan Hodges won state titles and help Sycamore claim the team points crown on Saturday at the Class 2A boys track and field state championships. Indian Creek, Kaneland and DeKalb also had medalists.
