DeKALB COUNTY – DeKalb County Sheriff’s and Coroner officials on Tuesday identified the driver who died in a Monday single-vehicle rollover crash on Nelson Road near Malta.

Myron J. Plapp, 53, of the 6600 block of Rich Road, DeKalb, was driving a 1994 GMC flatbed pick-up truck before the rollover crash reported 3:47 p.m. Monday in between DeKalb and Malta, according to a Tuesday news release from the sheriff’s office.

“The driver was unresponsive on arrival and was pronounced deceased on scene,” sheriff’s officials wrote in a Monday police report.

Plapp’s identity was initially withheld pending next-of-kin notification, according to sheriff’s officials.

“For an unknown reason, the vehicle left the roadway and overturned, causing the crash,” DeKalb County Sheriff Chief Deputy Andy Sullivan said Tuesday.

No arrests were made in connection with the incident as of Tuesday, sheriff’s officials said.

DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office and DeKalb Fire Department responded to the scene, according to the report. The crash is under investigation by the DeKalb County Coroner’s Office and the sheriff’s office.
