Working with kids came naturally to Devert after being the youngest of six children, working as a babysitter growing up and watching her older sister man a classroom for many years before her.

After beginning her career in education as an aid in Bureau Valley for a few years, Tracey Schoff decided to further explore her interest and pursued a full-time teaching degree. This decision has now led to a 17-year career teaching kids in BV, just as she once was.

How many teachers switch from business to education mid-career? Kelly Liebhart, a Spanish teacher at La Salle-Peru Township High School, is one of about 15% to make the big switch.

DePue High School was in a desperate need for a cheer coach three years ago. When they had no one else to turn to, they asked music teacher Tom Miller, who admittedly knew nothing about cheerleading.

St. Bede football coach Jim Eustice worked in banking and wealth management for 20 years before becoming a math and business teacher at St. Bede, and Eustice said he "can't wait to get there every day."

While change is consistent, for almost all students that have attended Princeton Elementary Schools in the past 60 years, at least one thing has remained the same: Eleanor Walker.
